I am currently a Research Assistant in the Visual Information Group, in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Bristol.

I was awarded a PhD degree in June 2010. My research topic was "Algorithms and Architecture of Lossless Image and Video Compression".

My supervisors are Prof. Nishan Canagarajah and Dr Jose L. Nunez-Yanez.

I was also a visiting student in the Laboratory for Perception, Action and Cognition in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the Pennsylvania State University. My advisor is Dr Yanxi Liu.

My research interests: signal processing, image/video processing/compression, computer vision, statistical modeling, machine learning, information theory and FPGA design, reconfiguration.
